Peregrine
Plan a trip! Peregrine is a social trip planning app designed to make planning with others a much more streamlined task, with added features for finding travel companions.
Personally I always felt that planning a trip was daunting, and planning trips with others is simply a logistical nightmare. I wanted to create an app that would help facilitate the process.
Peregrine makes the planning process easier by organizing the information coming from friends, and sorting it into a clear, concise, and categorized format.
Peregrine is designed, first and foremost, as a mediation tool. Peregrine creates a social network and a system for content organization, which establishes a base for interaction between users. It allows users to create shareable itineraries that allow for live input from other users. This way users are able to discuss and suggest potential destinations to each other without leaving the Peregrine. Users are also provided with
Since social media was a built in as a mainstay of the app, I decided to take advantage of that. What makes Peregrine unique is it’s “Who’s close” search feature. Users can create filtered searches for nearby users who are open to becoming travel companions. Profiles display
The Visual
For the visual style of app I wanted to keep the design very clean and minimal since what was more important was functional aspects of the app. I had difficulty choosing colours since it was hard to pin down what colours were related to travel. I opted for a more dynamic colour palette that would help create the contrast between the elements that I wanted.
